Below is the scoresheet comments from COA. Be thinking about thier comments over the next month to make sure that we are improving in each category. I love all the new stuff we are working. I think you will be so happy when you know the routine can hit flawlessly.
Tumbling: “Squeeze your legs” Yep I agree! If you are working on a full you should have a perfect round off BHS before you do that full or layout. Technique ladies! This was our lowest score!
Stunts: “don’t travel, Cute transition but clean it up” Full ups looked great. I love them very much but if they don't look good then that can really affect the ovrerall scoresheet. Be thinking to hit the full up, go to extension and double down!
Mount: “need to double up or down” We will find more to add to the mount.
Jumps: “work technique” UM yea! Everyone person should have a level to hyper extended jumps. Work on these! There is no reason not to be hyperextended.
Tosses: “kick straight out. Don’t punch it out” Don't know what this judge was looking at... hmmm)
Motions/Dance: “average: look tired” UGH! We can't be average! Don't worry we are going to change the dance, again. WE will stand for Average!
Other: “walk off excited no matter what Hold body position in heel stretch”
Overall you looked great! We just needs on working a few things more solid and ready to go for Inddy. WE re going to look fabulous in Wednesay!

COA Scoresheets
Below are your scoresheets from COA. Read thier comments and lets really focus on getting this routine cleaned up. YOu seemed very distracted this weekend and the routine looked like a practice run through. We need to fight to keep our stunts up and move like robots throughout the whole routine. Sharp and Sassy!
Tumbling: Lowest score is technique. “Sqeeze your legs” We need to work on straight legs on all tumbling passes. No bend legs or sticking the booty out. We need as many frontwalkovers into round off BHS or round off BHS step out into round off BHS BHS as we can. Make sure you are remembering to work these skills too. YEA!
Stunts: "clean them up" Well yea they were not together and crazy looking. We will work on these a lot in the next month to make sure we hit them solid next time!
Pyramid: “good load in” We got a little ding on shaky legs on the mount, but overall good.
Jumps: “lots of jumps :)work on the technique” We need everyone to get level!
Tosses: “tosses need cleaned up” I agree ladies! Remember fliers keep your feet under you in the toss. No booties sticking out! Our log rolls we need fliers to be super duper tight and bases travel with your flier so you catch her and do not end up on the floor.
Motions/Dance: “ cute dance! Work on your timing” I want to see sharper motions from everyone and no watching each other! You know the routine and your part. Smile to the audience instead of looking around.
Penalties: NONE! Hip hip hooray!
Overall ladies great job! Let's do some cleaning up by Jan so we can be placing and running with these big dawgs! GO Panthers!

Scoresheets
Youth team,
Great job this weekend! Your hard work is really paying off! The scoresheets say there is still room for improvement but we sure are proud! You beat teams that were older and bigger than you! Woo Hoo! Your scoresheets improved a lot since last week and I hope to see them improve more and more.
The scoresheets are also a little different this year. There is a quantity score that has been incorporated as well. Therefore each person that does not have that level skills actually hurts the team. For example you want a whole team that can do front walkover round off multiple BHS in order to max out in the tumbling category. This is true for all categories: stunts, baskets, jumps etc. This is helping make smaller teams be on the same playing field as larger teams. This is the companies way of saying you can have more kids on the floor but they all better be able to do the skills of that level. We do struggle with the area of making a large mount but as the new rules states it shouldn't be held against us. If we have a team of 15 and 13 of them can do a skill we will get a higher quantity score than a team of 20 and 15 of them can do the skill. It would be awesome if we can get the whole team moving into level 2 in every category but this is hard to do. So if you are almost there but one category is not quite there yet its ok. Just keep working hard to get there!
As long as we can get a high number on the team to be level 2 in all categories we will do well... Well without those darn penalties too! Here are the judges comments:
Stunts:
"Be sure to complete extension before cradle. Flyers really lock and lift"
Technique score is the lowest. Flyer skills need to be cleaner and more flexible while the bases provide a more stable looking stunt.
Pyramid:
"Very visual section! Lock out legs flyers"
Technique is the lowest score . Difficulty is maxed.
Standing tumbling:
"clean up BHS technique- legs are bent and apart."
Technique is the lowest score with legs bent and arms bent. Really think about this when you are doing your tumbling. No good in doing it if you are not doing it well!
Running Tumbling:
"Put more power into it!"
We need more combo passes and multiple BHS passes.
Jumps:
"Lots of great jump combos. Point your toes. Watch leg and arm placement and work on body control."
Technique score needs some improvement. Remember to max out this score everyone needs to be almost level with pointed toes.
Dance:
"Watch levels of arm motions. Watch placement on motions."
Technique score is decent but I would like it to go up at least one more point for the next competition.
Overall:
"Cute routine! Clean to perfect!"
"polish routine"
Penalties:

Time to clean it up!
Well finally I am able to do a little bit of typing and getting back into the swing of things. Of course I am still not able to walk about but I am getting closer each day. My hand still has a little longer but I am learning to type with my splint. New skill learned!
OK practice is going pretty well... just need to be a whole lot cleaner! Fabulous ladies you know the routine and your counts. Now we just need to clean it up! Let's have a serious talk like we did last night at practice. A few things need to be worked on to be a good level 2 team. Just because you can attempt a level 2 skill does not mean you will credit for it unless you do it well. The judges won't know how far you have come but will only judge you on how well you do the skills. So here are the following things I want everyone to really think about when you are doing your skills:

Let's have a serious talk like we did last night at practice. A few things need to be worked on to be a good level 2 team. Just because you can attempt a level 2 skill does not mean you will credit for it unless you do it well. The judges won't know how far you have come but will only judge you on how well you do the skills. So here are the following things I want everyone to really think about when you are doing your skills:
- Backhandsprings (running and standing): All BHS need to have legs and arms together. We understand that when you learn at first it is hard to control those arms and legs. Some of you are newbies to the BHS but lets really focus on squeezing and being tight while you tumble. Hello arms and legs! Yep that's right most of you have them all over the place! Squeeze! Remember if you are gonna do it let's do it the right way, not just flip. :) Can you imagine what my BHS would look like right now? Yikes! I bet I would have to squeeze too!
- Stunts ( libs, baskets, mount): We seem to be a little inconsistent with our stunts lately. You don't need the fronts! I know you can do it! If they can hit some of the time then they can hit all the time! Fliers squeeze and be tight. Bases be belly to belly and use your legs! Backs be careful not to push forward and control your stunt...we don't call you the queen for nothing! Everyone do your job every time so your stunts hit every time.
- Motions (cheer and dance): OK everyone knows the motions in the routine... however all motions have to be done at the right level and tightly. Remember when I count like a drill Sargent and your motions get sharper? When the music is on you have to count like that in your head. Everyone think about being sharp with each movement. Be just like a robot with each move. I look pretty funny waving my arms around with that pink splint but I am trying to get you to be tighter.
- Walking in clean: Hello! This one is easy. Practice at home walking around your house in clean. Let's not loose any points by not moving in clean. Hanging your hands at your side is not being clean. You must squeeze your arms at your side for it to count. I will practice hopping in clean since I can't walk in clean. :) How funny will that be!
Good news is that I have seen a lot of you improve on all that is listed above. Most of you just have to be reminded over and over to do them. Well it is time for it to become a habit. Before long we won't have to remind you because you will just automatically do it. Everyone practice at home. Remember it is only worth doing if you are doing it correctly.
Great job ladies! Don't forget I am looking for sharp cheerleaders at every practice for the whole practice, not just the beginning.

Ladies this is a super hard dance but you need it to max out on the scoresheet. HOWEVER it will not do us any good unless you look tight and sharp at it. Practice practice! The dance is broken up into three parts below.

Problems in the Bathroom!
Fabulous and Ferocious Panther Parents,
I am asking you all for some help with a small situation that has come up. There seems to be some silliness going on in the bathrooms. Please remind your child that the bathrooms are for doing your business and washing hands and nothing else. There are several different things that are going on in the bathroom.
I am asking you all for some help with a small situation that has come up. There seems to be some silliness going on in the bathrooms. Please remind your child that the bathrooms are for doing your business and washing hands and nothing else. There are several different things that are going on in the bathroom.
- There is a candy club. The kids are bringing candy and trading in the bathroom. Not really a big deal except for they are doing it during practice when they should not be eating candy. The snack machines should really be used for special occasions and not for every practice treats. The kids complain about belly aches during practice. I am sure it is too much candy intake. You are talking to the queen of candy herself but there is a time and place for candy. Mid practice is the not the time and the bathroom is not the place. :) Also this club has not included everyone nor has it accepted everyones candy choices. So I think it is best to save this club for outside of the gym.
- There are some light switch flippers in the group! Let's be sure to keep the light switches on. We do turn them off at night when we leave. During the week the lights have been turned off on little gymnastics kiddos. Can you imagine how scary that can be for a little one? Sometimes it may be a habit for some and good them but we must keep the light on for everyone to do their business in the bathroom. :)
- We have some young ladies sharing stalls and using toilets to stand on. Let's be sure that one person per stall and toilets are not for standing on. I would not want to wear a cheer shoe all season long that has been in the public toilet. Yuck! Those are pretty expensive shoes to put in a toilet!
- Lastly some of the kids are sharing their opinion of other athletes while in the bathroom. This has made some of the Panthers very sad to hear their teammates talk negative about them. The coaches will correct and help every Panther become they best they can be. Everyone brings something to the team and without each and every player we could not do the routine we have, put up the stunts, and make great big Fabulous mounts! Please remind each Panther to only use kind words. All opinions should be kept themselves. A high five, pat on the back and kind words will go a long way.
If everyone will go over this with their Panther that would be great. We as coaches will also discuss with the kids as well. A coach will accompany the team on rest room breaks as well. I know things like this come up when working with this age. Let's be sure that the Panthers and going to the bathroom are a positive experience for everyone! Thanks all for your help!
Cheers,
Heather
Choreography Camp Reminder
Just a reminder that this Saturday August 15th is Choreography camp for Ferocious 9-1130 am and Fabulous 12-3 pm. We will learn the next section of the routine. Please make sure your Panther has been checking the blog for reviewing the routines. All Panthers should know the routine up until the cheer so we can move on this Saturday. Practice last Sunday was pretty sparse so I hope everyone has been practicing.
If you are a crossover make sure you bring a lunch. You will need some brain power and energy to learn the next routine! See you all on Saturday!

Tumbling vids from Sunday 2nd
Here are some of the tumbling greatness we saw on Sunday. Really watch yourself and even press pause in the middle of your tumbling passes to look at arms, legs and heads. Are your arms in the right spot? Are your leg strait? Is your head going back or is it staying put? Watch them carefully! If you do not have video never fear you will! Either you were not there on Sunday OR you were in a different group. We will try to keep taking videos and posting them on the site for you to view.

Ladies are you practicing those routines? Make sure you can do the cheer up to tempo. On sunday the cheer looked crazy but good for you being able to put the first half to music. Still pretty crazy looking but it will only get better and better. On August 15th you will start learning the rest of the routine. You still have the running tumbling section, dance and mount left. Great job so far!
Here are some of the lib clips and routine clip. Watch it and find some great stuff that happens and some things that need some improvement.
